The process for UA students to apply to change their major to Art happens online, once a year. The next application period is for the 2009–10 academic year and is scheduled February 15 - 28, 2009.
Each program may require additional application materials.
Bachelor of Arts - Art History

500 word essay responding to the following questions: What academic coursework has prepared you for becoming an Art History major? Based on this academic preparation, summarize what you know about art history as a discipline (What kinds of questions do art historians ask? Where do they go for answers?) You may refer to a specific work of art that you encountered in your own coursework to exemplify your ideas.
The Art History faculty will evaluate both what you write and how you write it. Please do not write an autobiography.
Note: The Art History faculty strongly urges all interested students to meet with a member of the faculty in person prior to submission of the application for a change of major.

Recommended size is 640 pixels with the longest dimension being no longer than 800 pixels.
Portfolios will be evaluated in terms of the applicant's level of conceptual and technical skills, understanding of composition and form, extent of experimentation and innovation, as well as effort and commitment.
