Zimmermann teaches various courses in the visual communications area. She teaches courses that explore two dimensional and time-based materials as well as theoretical, historical, and critical issues in design. Her current research examines the relationship between design, culture, and technology through writing, professional design, and independent art work. Her work has been seen in AIGA Loop, The Education of a E Designer, Adobe Magazine, FATE, SIGGRAPH, and Zed.
