Celebrate five years of stellar performances in the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre. The Eller Theatre opened its doors at the Gateway to the Stars gala, which feted 600 people to an evening of magic and splendor. We hope that you will join us again in October for this special anniversary.

The Gateway kicked off the greatest period of development in the history of the UA Dance Program. In our new theatre, the UA Dance Ensemble has performed more than 150 times to nearly 45,000 audience members. Beyond the UA, two tours to Italy had the Ensemble performing most recently in Rome! The number of male dancers increased from 16 to 40 (second only to Juilliard) and the admission of both undergraduates and graduates has become even more selective than before. New faculty and staff now help to sustain our vision for integrated dance education. Finally, the dance program was elevated to School status and is now The University of Arizona School of Dance.

There is much to celebrate. As with Gateway, all proceeds from FIVE! will support our young artists whose professional careers are launched through the work they do while on the UA campus. We invite you to enhance these young people’s futures by joining us for FIVE! So put October 11 on your calendar when we’ll be bringing Broadway and Hollywood to Tucson. Here’s a quick peek at
the sumptuous evening we have planned for FIVE!

• A cocktail reception featuring entertainment and taste sensations from Tucson’s finest chefs.

• A gourmet dinner in an exotic setting created by award winning designer, Bill Parker.

• A concert that has no equal, featuring choreography by UA Dance faculty, performance by UA Dance Ensemble, and a sizzling second half in which we collaborate with Broadway star Liz Callaway to the accompaniment of the Jeff Haskell Trio!

• A finale full of surprises – one that will keep you awake and humming for hours.

All evening long, our young artists will dance their hearts out. To learn a bit more about our headliner, Liz Callaway, click here. If you questions or would like information about sponsorship, feel free to call Jory Hancock, artistic director for FIVE!, at 520.626.8030 (office) or 520.730.7353 (cell). Get your tickets soon - we anticipate the event will sell out before invitations are sent! Download your registration form now!

See you there!
