Name-A-Seat

The UA School of Dance provides a conservatory approach to training in the context of a liberal arts education at a Research One university.

The academic and travel opportunities offer students perspectives beyond the dance studio. Ten percent of UA Dance major pursue a second degree, often in business or pre-med.

UA Dance graduates are recruited by major ballet, modern and jazz dance companies including American Ballet Theater, Houston Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Dance Kaleidoscope, River North in Chicago, and Dance Spectrum in Seattle.

Graduates have toured with Broadway shows and regional companies, and have served on the faculty of major universities such as the University of Iowa and the University of Michigan.

Funds generated through the Name-A-Seat campaign support the Dance Fund for Continuing Excellence and may be used for student scholarships and travel, guest artist fees, costumes, or special equipment and musical arrangements.
