"The TOMMY show is an exploration of two related issues - first is the tragedy of child abuse and how this horror can shut us down and turn us off from the world (Tommy Walker is abused as a child by his parents, uncle, and cousin and as a result becomes deaf, dumb, and blind). Second is the search for meaning and understanding in this life and (as Tommy realizes when he becomes aware) we must look beyond ourselves to the infinite for this understanding. Until we see the infinite possibilities we are all deaf, dumb, and blind."
