This presentation will cover the history, evolution, and contemporary status and repertoire of the Native American flute. Topics will include: organizations for the flute; physical characteristics of early Native American flutes; historical and cultural importance of the Native American flute: past and present; mythology; and the contemporary Native American flute and its repertoire.
