D E S C R I P T I O N
In this course we will examine the relationships between new media theory, criticism, and design. Of utmost concern is the impact of new technologies on society, culture, and art.
This course will cover: 1) Historical References to Technologies, 2) Political Structures: Empowerment and Responsibility, 3) Cultures and Virtual Identities: Class, gender, race and sexuality, 4) Digital Aesthetics and Interface.
Requirements for this course include readings, writing key questions, discussions, and creating group multimedia web projects based on the readings.
