What is SPAG?


SPAG (SaddleBrooke Performing Arts Group) is a chartered club under SaddleBrooke 2 rules.It was chartered in 2005. The object of this group shall be to offer SaddleBrooke residents musical theater, shows and other types of performances by local residents.



Who may join SPAG?


Membership is open to any person having a current SB HOA #1 or #2 membership card.No eligible person shall be denied member ship because of race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation or marital status.



What are the dues?


One time dues are $10 payable to SPAG.



What has SPAG produced?


SPAG has presented five shows in SaddleBrooke, including one variety show, two Send-Ups and two Christmas in the Brooke. SPAG has participated in the Mardi Gras parade in February in both 2008 and 2009, as well as the Holiday of Lights Parade in Tucson each year since 2006.




How are funds and profits used?


Funds that are generated are used to pay rental fees for the spaces, costumes, props, ticketing and marketing expenses and other items required to produce a show.Funds have been loaned to other SB theatre groups to assist in mounting their productions. Profits from these shows have been donated to Catalina Community Charities as well as improvements to the Mountain View Ballroom and the Desert View Theater. In 2008, SPAG established an Endowment with the University of Arizona School of Theatre Arts to support a senior student scholarship in their quest toward a career in musical theatre. Actors, musicans, singers, directors and producers from SaddleBrooke participate in SPAG productions on a pro bono basis.
