Christmas in the Brooke 2008

'Twas some nights after closing and all through the Brooke,

The cast was awaiting their photos, to look.

While Shirley and Jim drove west to the game,

Skip and Judi declared BYU we will tame.

It was time to post pictures on SPAG's own website,

So photos were 'shopped' to make them look right.

Our emcee was Tom, who wore glasses and toppers,

And told many jokes to announce the show stoppers.

There was Kate who looked great in a skirt that was long.

She belted a solo on 'The Christmas Song'

Lloyd, Selma, Marline led off with their story,

Dramatically delivered with great oratory.

The chipmunks appeared in a comical manner,

Announcing their song with great Chipmunk banter.

The beggars worked folks with old hats in their hands,

Soliciting coins as a traveling band.

We Need was rehearsed and refined so professional,

The red scarves were transferred with precision exceptional.

Then Monica sang with a mike in her hand,

Which failed once or twice, but she stayed with the band.

My Favorite Things was given new rhymes,

From a trio of divas well known in our times.

The Twelve Days of Christmas was a favorite skit,

Combining the best of that trio's good wit.

Skip, Peggy and Sally were not compromising

While reading a memo on corporate downsizing.

Next Tina, Diane, Marilyn Mitchell and Barb.

Dazzled the crowd with their sparkling garb.

Appearing as if he emerged from the mist,

Ted sang and he danced with a Donegal twist,

There were MJ and Donna and Kathie and Dwight,

Plus Joann and Patti enhancing the night.

Earline plucked her bass with a jazzy rendition,

The band did its job without inhibition.

There were Gareth and Gail to enhance the great show,

While Norm on his trombone continued to blow.

Dan was a great robber with number on chest,

While his joke on the wise men was one of the best.

Our Christmas was white 'cause the trio did soar,

Ted, Monica, Gail earned applause like a roar.

Our opening night had plenty of fright,

But, closing was flawless the following night.

Then we heard the crowd say as they left Mountain View:

'Are tickets available for next year's Review?'
