Alums Honored with Comer Award

The Irene Comer Musical Theatre Award was presented to Theatre Arts alumni, Tony Terry ('77) and Tom Benson ('77) at our annual Musical Theatre Benefit, Star Struck '99. Terry and Benson are partners in Tucson's unique Gaslight Theatre, where they produce original musical melodramas. Both are long-time supporters and fans of our program; many a UA Theatre student has graced the Gaslight stage, in front of the footlight and behind the scenes. The "Comer" award, named after beloved professor Irene Comer, honors individuals who have made lasting contributions to the UA Musical Theatre program. Thank you, and congratulations, gentlemen.
