Bio
Prior to his arrival at the University of Arizona, Prof. Brockman served as Chair of Theatre at The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Head of the Department of Theatre at Oklahoma State University and Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts at University of Idaho where he also served as Artistic Director of Idaho Repertory Theatre. Brockman has also served as the President of The United States Institute for Theatre Technology as well as, Vice President for Commissions, Chair of the Design Exposition Committee, Chair of the Inland Northwest Regional Section, and as the USITT Liaison to the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival.
Bruce Brockman works as a professional freelance scene designer and scenic artist. Recent design credits include "Gossamer" for First Stage, "Rabbit Hole" for Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, "Les Miserables" and "White Christmas" for Music Theatre of Wichita, "42nd Street" and "Carousel" for University of Michigan Music Theatre Program, and "Seven Guitars" and "From These Green Heights" for University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee . Other credits include Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Montana Repertory Theatre, Idaho Theatre for Youth, American Festival Ballet, Idaho Repertory Theatre, KUID Public Television, and numerous productions for the University of Idaho and Oklahoma State University. His work was included in the 1995 USITT Design Expo Catalog and the 1999 Prague Quadrennial International Design Exhibition.
