Bio

Literary Manager of Arizona Theatre Company, the State Theatre of Arizona. She is beginning her eighth season with ATC where she has provided dramaturgical assistance for many shows including the world premieres of Somebody/Nobody by Jane Martin, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, and Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure by Steven Dietz, among others. At ATC, she serves on the committee that determines the winner of the National Latino Playwriting Award, as well as helming the newly announced Arizona Playwriting Award. At ATC she manages the Teen Critic Program and the Dramaturgical Internship Program, which is a collaboration with the U of A’s School of Theatre. She served as the advisor for a U of A Honors College program dedicated to playwriting and taught acting at Arizona Opera’s Pulliam Studio program. She has been a reader for the NEA/TCG Theatre Residency Program for Playwrights. Ms. Bazzell was a participant in the Director’s Lab West in Pasadena and has worked as assistant to the director on various shows including A Moon for the Misbegotten, A Streetcar Named Desire, Copenhagen and Macbeth. For Beowulf Alley Theatre Company Ms. Bazzell directed Underneath the Lintel and Fiction by Steven Dietz and she directed and adapted Voices From the Struggle for Primavera’s 25th anniversary celebration of their work fighting for economic and social justice.
