Phillip Blackwood is the Faculty Technical Director for The University of Arizona’s School of Theater. Most recently Phillip was the Technical Director for ART's productions of She Loves Me and Biloxi Blues. Prior to coming to Tucson, Phillip was the Technical Director for the University of Miami’s Ring Theater. Technical Direction credits there include The Cherry Orchard, Tintypes, As You Like It, Good News, Falsettos and Violet. Phillip an MFA in Technical Direction from Ohio University. His Technical Direction credits there include Scapin, Circus Beckett and She Calls Up the Sun. In 2001 Phillip served as the Technical Director for Washington, DC’s GALA Hispanic Theatre, working on the hit musical Cuban Roots, and the Helen Hayes award-nominated Kiss of the Spider Woman. Phillip also holds a BA in Speech/Theatre from Oklahoma’s Northeastern State University, in Tahlequah, OK.
